OPEN SPACE COMMISSION
Minutes
I.	CALL TO ORDER

II.	PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 
III.	ADOPTION OF AGENDA
A.	ACTION – Commissioner Graff moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by
Commissioner Wilkinson.  Motion carried 6-0
IV.	REVIEW & APPROVE MINUTES FROM PRIOR MEETING
A.	ACTION – Commissioner Wilkinson moved to approve the minutes from
the August meeting, seconded by Commissioner Korinek.  Motion carried
6-0
V.	OLD BUSINESS
A.	Reccomendation for staff to apply for a Coastal Management Grant 
1.	Mike Friss from the Department of Administration provided a
handout, 2008 Wisconsin Great Lakes Chronicle.
2.	Construction of a multi use trail is one of the goals of the
commission.  What are some ways that the Town could approach this?
3.	Acquisitions and easements in the proximity of a river or lake
Michigan would greatly help a grant application.  Lands that are
adjacent to wetlands are relative, but would depend on what projects
Coastal Management receives that year as far as funding. 
4.	Mr. Friss suggested that the Town submit 2 applications if the Town
has 2 projects, but they must be prioritized by the Town of Grafton
when submitted.
B.	ACTION – Commissioner Graff moved to ask the Board of Supervisors
for authorization to submit 2 separate Wisconsin Coastal Management
Grant applications; one application for the second canoe launch, and
one application for a planning grant to further the Multi use trail
plan, conduct landowner contacts on those properties, seconded by
Commissioner Tomter.  Motion carried 6-0
VI.	NEW BUSINESS
A.	Sandra Dempsey-Beachgrass LLC, easement on her property
B.	Ms. Dempsey is willing to allow an easement on her land for the
Multi-use trail.
C.	ACTION – Commissioner Graff moved to ask the Board of Supervisors
to authorize staff to draft standard easement text to be distributed
to landowners, seconded by Commissioner Korinek.  Motion carried 6-0
VII.	RESIDENT CORRESPONDENCE/PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD
A.	None
VIII.	TOWN STAFF UPDATES
A.	Clerk
1.	Treasurers report will be submitted next month
2.	Update on horse trail signage by Lions Den is installed
IX.	MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS DEEMED PERTINENT AS ALLOWED BY LAW
A.	None
X.	ADJOURN
A.	ACTION – Commissioner Korinek moved to adjourn, seconded by
Chairman Rauser.  Motion carried 6-0
