TOWN OF GRAFTON
OPEN SPACE COMMISSION MEETING
September 27, 2010
I. CALL TO ORDER
A. Chairperson Tomter called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
B. Present:
Chairperson Marjie Tomter
Commissioner Steve Wilkinson
Commissioner Dorothy Boyer Commissioner Don Korinek
Scientist Brian Lennie

1. Absent: Commissioner Shawn Graff, Commissioner Mike Uihlein
II. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
1. ACTION-Commissioner Wilkinson moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Korinek, motion carried 4-0
III. REVIEW & APPROVE MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
1. Under Old business C 1-“Equestrian Center” should state “equestrian interests”
2. ACTION-Commissioner Wilkinson moved to approve the minutes as amended, seconded by Commissioner Korinek, motion carried 4-0
IV. OLD BUSINESS
A. Non-motorized launch-mowing/boulders
1. ACTION-Commissioner moved to , seconded by Commissioner, motion carried
B. Multi use trail phase 1- Update
1. ACTION-Commissioner Korinek moved to update the preferred alignment on the Multi-Use Trail map by the Burhop property west and then south along the fence line of the Gierach Investment Properties, seconded by Commissioner Wilkinson, motion carried 4-0
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. October budgeting workshop
1. Commissioner Wilkinson provided an update on the action taken by the Board of Supervisors regarding impact fees for new building permits
2. The Board will hold a Budgeting workshop on October 20, 2010 (****please note this workshop has been rescheduled to November 3, 2010 immediately following the Plan Commission meeting)
B. Conservation easements/acquisition
1. Commissioners held discussion on the direction of 2011 projects
2. No action taken
C. KELP program/VK homes parcel
1. Discussion was had regarding the County and Ozaukee Washington Land Trust Interest and strategies on the VK parcel
2. “KELP program” was a typo
3. No action taken
D. Resident notification of fundraising efforts
1. Commissioners agreed that a mailing should take place with the newsletter/tax bills this year
VI. RESIDENT CORRESPONDENCE/PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD
1. None
VII. TOWN STAFF UPDATES
1. Scientist Lennie explained that the Commission should discuss the budget for Phase 2 of the Multi-Use Trail
2. The Commission could discuss obtaining volunteers to construct the portion of the Multi-use trail on the Drawing Dead parcel versus publically bidding the project.
3. Scientist Lennie stated that November 17 is the Gathering Waters meeting that will discuss the PACE program regarding purchasing agricultural conservation easements. Commissioners are invited to attend if they are interested.
VIII. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS DEEMED PERTINENT AS ALLOWED BY LAW
1. None
IX. ADJOURN
1. ACTION-Commissioner Korinek moved to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Boyer, motion carried 4-0
