Board of Supervisors – Budget Meeting
Official Minutes
I. CALL TO ORDER
A. Chairman Bartel called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
B. Present
Chairman Bartel Town Clerk Wendy Weeks
Supervisor Tim Kaul
Supervisor Tom Grabow
Absent: Supervisor Rogers, Supervisor Helms (arrived at 7:30 PM)
II. ASSURANCE OF PROPER NOTICE
Town Clerk Wendy Weeks assured the meeting that the Agenda was properly noticed.
III. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
A. 2007 Proposed Budget of the Town of Grafton
1. ACTION - Chairman Bartel opened the public hearing at 7:04 PM.
2. Charles Grimm, 1642 Edgewater Court, spoke regarding the Town keeping residents notified about the
test well results at the Denow Landfill.
3. Chairman Bartel explained the Denow landfill situation and the costs associated with it. This project
uses over $250,000 every year from the Town of Grafton budget (22.57% of the total budget), in four
years over $1 million will be spent.
4. ACTION – Chairman Bartel closed the public hearing at 7:16 PM.
B. A Special Town Meeting of the Electors, called pursuant to Section 60.12 (1)(c) of the Wisconsin Statutes by the
Town Board will be held for the following purposes:
1. Approval of the 2007 highway expenditures pursuant to Section 81.01(3) of the Wisconsin Statutes.
a. ACTION – Chairman Bartel opened the public hearing at 7:18 PM.
b. No one wished to speak.
c. ACTION – Chairman Bartel closed the public hearing at 7:19 PM.
d. ACTION – Mr. Marko Musich, 1398 River Bend and 308 N Port Washington Road, moved
to approve the 2007 highway expenditures, seconded by Bob Wolf. Motion carried
unanimously.
2. To adopt the 2006 Town Tax Levy to be paid in 2007 pursuant to Section 60.10(1)(a) of the Wisconsin
Statutes.
a. ACTION – Chairman Bartel closed the public hearing at 7:22 PM.
b. Town Clerk Weeks reviewed the 2007 budget. The total increase in the levy is 4.4% over last
year.
c. ACTION – Chairman Bartel closed the public hearing at 7:28 PM.
d. ACTION – Supervisor Kaul moved to approve the 2006 Town Tax Levy to be paid in
2007, seconded by Supervisor Grabow. Motion carried unanimously.
IV. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS DEEMED PERTINENT AS ALLOWED BY LAW.
1. None
V. ADJOURN
1. ACTION – Supervisor Grabow moved to adjourn, seconded by Supervisor Kaul. Motion carried
unanimously.
