OPEN SPACE COMMISSION MEETING
June 21, 2010
I. CALL TO ORDER
A. Chairperson Tomter called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
B. Present:
Chairperson Marjie Tomter
Commissioner Steve Wilkinson
Commissioner Dorothy Boyer Commissioner Shawn Graff Commissioner Mike Uihlein Commissioner Don Korinek
Scientist Brian Lennie

II. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
1. ACTION-Commissioner Wilkinson moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Boyer, motion carried 4-0
III. REVIEW & APPROVE MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
1. Commissioner Wilkinson stated that item IV (3) in the minutes should be corrected. The word bicycles should be changed to vehicles.
2. ACTION-Commissioner Wilkinson moved to approve the minutes as amended, seconded by Commissioner Uihlein, motion carried 4-0
IV. OLD BUSINESS
1. Multi-Use Trail Update-Phase 1
a. Discussion was had on how phase 1 could be connected to phase 2.
b. ACTION-Commissioner Wilkinson made a motion to contact Karrin Manley to see if she is still interested in granting the Town an easement. Commissioner Wilkinson withdrew his motion.
2. Multi-Use Trail Update-Phase 2
a. No action taken
3. Non-motorized boat launch update
a. No action taken
V. NEW BUSINESS
1. None
VI. RESIDENT CORRESPONDENCE/PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD
1. Commissioner Tomter stated that there have been issues with purchase of development rights on the Mauer property.
VII. TOWN STAFF UPDATES
1. Staff is sending a letter to Bob Dreblow and Andrew Struck of the Ozaukee County Highway Department asking for permission to place the new horse trail signs.
2. The Duck Derby will have to be postponed until 2011 and will be a cooperative effort with EDGE.
3. Scientist Lennie gave an update on the potential easement on the Drawing Dead parcel.
4. The ribbon cutting ceremony has been scheduled for August 21, 2010 at 9:00 am. The media and the Witte’s will be contacted to attend.
VIII. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS DEEMED PERTINENT AS ALLOWED BY LAW
IX. ADJOURN
1. ACTION-Commissioner Tomter moved to adjourn , seconded by Commissioner Uihlein, motion carried 4-0
