OPEN SPACE COMMISSION MEETING
July 26, 2010
I. CALL TO ORDER
A. Chairperson Tomter called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
B. Present:

Commissioner Steve Wilkinson
Commissioner Dorothy Boyer Commissioner Shawn Graff Commissioner Mike Uihlein Commissioner Don Korinek
Scientist Brian Lennie

1. Absent: None
II. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
1. ACTION-Commissioner Graff moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Boyer, motion carried 7-0
III. REVIEW & APPROVE MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
1. Minutes will be approved at the August meeting
IV. OLD BUSINESS
A. Project closeout for Non-Motorized Boat Launch
1. Scientist Lennie explained that the developer is in the final stages of project closeout for the boat launch project.
2. No action taken
B. Town Board action regarding sign installation and funding (per your suggestion)
1. Scientist Lennie explained that the Town Board approved the sign installation and funding as recommended by the Open Space Commission
C. Ribbon cutting ceremony details for the Non-Motorized Boat Launch
1. The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for August 21, 2010 at 9:00 am.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. Compile a list of invitees for the boat launch ribbon cutting ceremony
1. Commissioners compiled a list of attendees to invite to the Grand Opening.
B. Discussion regarding proposed change order at the Non-Motorized Boat Launch to install lower deck addition and timber steps
1. Commissioner Wilkinson asked for clarification of the issue
2. Scientist Lennie will clarify with the Town Engineer and provide an update at the next meeting
C. Review of plans for Town of Grafton Multi-Use Trail Phase I
1. Commissioners reviewed the plans for the Multi-use trail phase 1 project
2. Scientist Lennie explained that Karin Manley does not want to upset her neighbors if she grants an easement on her property for the Multi-use trail. She has concerns pertaining to having the trail open during hunting season; she does not like the idea of having a trail near her driveway and is also concerned about crossing the Ulao Creek.
VI. RESIDENT CORRESPONDENCE/PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD

VII. TOWN STAFF UPDATES
1. None
VIII. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS DEEMED PERTINENT AS ALLOWED BY LAW
1. At the August meeting Commissioners will discuss possible easement opportunities on the Maurer property, and will begin determining potential properties for easements for the Multi-use trail
IX. ADJOURN
1. ACTION-Commissioner Graff moved to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Boyer, motion carried 7-0
