OPEN SPACE COMMISSION MEETING
August 23, 2010
I. CALL TO ORDER
A. Chairperson Tomter called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
B. Present:
Chairperson Marjie Tomter
Commissioner Steve Wilkinson
Commissioner Dorothy Boyer Commissioner Shawn Graff Commissioner Don Korinek
Scientist Brian Lennie

1. Absent: Commissioner Mike Uihlein
II. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
1. ACTION-Commissioner Graff moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Tomter, motion carried 5-0
III. REVIEW & APPROVE MINUTES FROM JUNE & JULY 2010 MEETINGS
1. ACTION-Commissioner Wilkinson moved to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by Commissioner Tomter, motion carried 5-0
IV. OLD BUSINESS
A. Multi use trail update
1. Scientist Lennie explained that Grade Tech Pavers is the low bidder and they came in at $ 58,982.50
B. Multi use trail ph 2 alignment
1. Phase 2 of the Multi Use Trail alignment was not funded by WDNR , the grant application was denied.
C. Multi use trail future alignments/signage
1. Staff will schedule a meeting with Equestrian Center owners in December
D. CORP projects yrs 1-5; update 2012
1. Staff directed Commissioners to begin to look at updating the CORP in winter of 2011/2012 and think about their accomplishments and decide on the next 5 years worth of projects.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. Fund raising for Open Space projects
1. Commissioners would like to hold the duck derby at the non-motorized boat launch within the next 5 years
2. Options to inform residents of the fundraising efforts would be to include a letter with the tax bills or in the annual news letter, depending on the costs involved.
3. Conservation easements and acquisition will be discussed at the September 2010 meeting.
VI. RESIDENT CORRESPONDENCE/PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD
1. None
VII. TOWN STAFF UPDATES
1. Maintenance of the non-motorized boat launch site: Commissioner Wilkinson will take care of the mowing in 2010
VIII. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS DEEMED PERTINENT AS ALLOWED BY LAW
IX. ADJOURN
1. ACTION-Commissioner Wilkinson moved to adjourn , seconded by Commissioner Tomter, motion carried 5-0
