OPEN SPACE COMMISSION MEETING
April 26, 2010
I. CALL TO ORDER
A. Chairperson Rauser called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
B. Present:
Chairperson Jon Rauser
Commissioner Marjie Tomter
Commissioner Steve Wilkinson
Commissioner Shawn Graff Commissioner Mike Uihlein Commissioner Don Korinek
Scientist Brian Lennie
Clerk Jessica Schmidt
1. Absent: Commissioner Dorothy Boyer
II. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
1. ACTION-Commissioner Graff moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Rauser, motion Carried 6-0
III. REVIEW & APPROVE MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
1. ACTION-Commissioner Korinek moved to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by Commissioner Rauser, motion carried 6-0
IV. OLD BUSINESS
1. Multi-use trail update
2. Action- Commissioner Tomter moved to install 2 new horse signs at Pioneer Rd & HWY C, seconded by Commissioner Graff, motion carried 6-0
V. NEW BUSINESS
1. Sign design and manufacturing for the North Canoe Launch
2. Commissioners discussed types of signage, materials to be used and layout design.
3. Funding and contributions for signage at North Canoe Launch
4. Action-Commissioner Graff moved to have the Town of Grafton pay for the supplies for the signage up to $400, seconded by Commissioner Korinek. Motion carried 6-0
5. Determine a ribbon cutting date for the North Canoe Launch
6. Commissioners set the date of the ribbon cutting to be on August 21, 2010
VI. RESIDENT CORRESPONDENCE/PERSONS WISHING TO BE HEARD
1. None
VII. TOWN STAFF UPDATES
1. Staff is investigating a potential site for an easement on Green Valley Rd.
2. Action-Commissioner Graff moved to write a letter to Andrew Struck to discuss County Parks & Planning Vision and cooperative efforts with the Town of Grafton, seconded by Commissioner Korinek. Motion carried 6-0
VIII. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS DEEMED PERTINENT AS ALLOWED BY LAW
1. Commissioner Wilkinson requested that the Commission gather zoning information along STH 32 from the Plan Commission
IX. ADJOURN
1. ACTION-Commissioner Tomter moved to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Rauser, motion carried 6-0
